Welcome Creative Friends!
Happy Friday, I'm so glad you are here!!
Today is the first Friday of the month so that means, its time for another
First Fridays Blog Hop... 🎉WOO HOO!!!
This month our theme was to use a bundle from the New 2017-2018 Annual Catalog and create 2 different projects using that same bundle.
I have chosen to play with the Oh So Eclectic Bundle 😍
I myself have pretty eclectic taste and adore mixing textures & styles in fun ways. So, this set is proving to be one of my absolute favorites from the new catalog so far!
This is a bundle that really lives up to its name and provides endless possibilities to create anything from a soft feminine look to a striking more modern look. I must say, I am completely LOVING it and I personally think Stampin' UP! Probably should have called it the "Oh So FABULOUSLY Eclectic Bundle"! 😉 ((But, that's just me and I digress 😬)) Now, let's get back on track and take a look at the two projects I have created for you today.
The first Card I have to share with you today has a lovely feminine feel. It features a background I created using my big shot and the single leaf embossing thinlet that comes with the Oh So Eclectic Bundle.
That's right, this cute little leaf does not actually cut out a leaf. Rather, it embosses and can be used in endless ways to provide you with as little or as much embossing to achieve the look you are going for. ((But don't you worry, like I said this bundle has everything so there is also a thinlet that cuts out a slightly larger leaf as you can see featured on my card.😉))
Before assembling my card, I stamped the flower from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set in peekaboo peach and cut it out using my big shot and the coordinating thinlets. (Can we just stop for a second and reflect on how absolutely FANTASTIC it is to have coordinating product... It is seriously one of my most FAVORITE things EVER and a main reason I fell in love with Stampin' UP! all those years ago! 💕) Meanwhile since I had my big shot out, I also cut out the coordinating overlay for the flower along with a few leaves. 😉 Then, I stamped a sentiment on black card stock and embossed it using my white embossing powder before cutting it into strips to give it a touch of whimsy. Finally, to complete the card I glued everything down and added just a few simple embellishments - a delicate white doily, white bakers twine, and even a few metallic enamel dots.
Here is my finished card.... Isn't it pretty???
For my next project, I went for a more striking modern feel. I just love how the simple black background makes everything POP!
For this card I started with the geometric diamond shape I cut out using yet another thinlet from this AWESOME bundle. I layered the cut piece onto a water color washed background I created using my markers, aqua painter and a clear block 😍 but honestly, I could have just used the lemon lime twist and that would have been super cool too. 💞 To finish off this stunning card, I just added a white embossed sentiment, some stamped and cut out flowers and leaves along with an adorable glimmer enamel dot. Oh and of course a touch of Wink of Stella 😉 (( Oh how I adore thee glitter! 💖))
Both the box and card use the same idea and come together rather quickly. Yet, definitely have that WOW factor. 😎 Actually they make quite an adorable set for gift giving. Don't you think?
